where your treasure is
Oh, my. I should have posted this about a week ago, but life and everything, and well, I'm just getting around to it! I want to document that autumn when Abe was two and Matthew was five, because these sure are precious days. And the mustaches. How could I not document those?! The mustache thing started last year when Matthew wore the same costume as this year. We looked at him all decked out and realized a mustache was missing. So Jeremiah discovered a hidden talent of drawing on mustaches. How could we not carry on the tradition this year?! Abe got one this year two. We laughed all day when we looked at them...there's just something hilariously funny when you look at a little boy with a mustache! At least...it is so funny to us!
We took the day off school and went to a little party in the morning with friends. The kids (all decked out in their adorable/funny costumes) ran and played while us moms talked. Then we went over to my favorite part of our little town--the historical district. The sky was a beautiful light blue, the leaves were a bright gold, the air smelled like crunchy leaves, and well, it could not have been more perfect!
We were walking along the sidewalk each boy in his adorable and funny costume having our normal conversations (which usually involves a TON of questions) and I couldn't help but reflect on how much I love these special people God has entrusted me with! The scripture in Matthew: "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." My treasure really is my family! Nothing else compares. And the chance to be around these two special little ones. So pure. So good! So full of life and energy is one of the greatest blessings I could ever imagine. I get teary-eyed when I think about it. Just a heart full of love and gratitude. xo
