I love Indpendence Day! This year I didn't do much--well any planning or preparations because we arrived home early in the morning on the 4th from Alaska, but it was a wonderful day none-the-less.

Jeremiah arose early to attend an early morning church meeting, so the boys and I used that bonus time to get cards ready for him when he returned home. They giggled with delight as they put their best artistic skills to work to show their dad just how very much they love and appreciate him. (sidenote: I've got to go snap a photo of said cards!)
Read MoreWell, we moved! And my goodness, it felt totally stressful to me and to us! Jeremiah calculated that it was the fourth time we've moved in five years. And of those four moves, three of them were while pregnant...no wonder I'm beat!
Read MoreWe are getting ready to head out of town, but I wanted to briefly share about the United Nations CSW (Commission on the Status of Women) conference, documents are being produced that refer to children as “burdens;” with the expressed desire to have the efforts (unpaid care and domestic work) usually performed by mothers “reduced and redistributed” to “national care systems” (the government). Please see the link here. This cannot be! I wish I were able to hug mothers everywhere who struggle, because the truth is, it's hard work! But I cannot think of a greater work that I could be doing. It makes me cringe to hear children referred to as "burdens," and I want to stand up and shout in support of home and family!

I want to document that autumn when Abe was two and Matthew was five, because these sure are precious days. And the mustaches. How could I not document those?! The mustache thing started last year when Matthew wore the same costume as this year. We looked at him all decked out and realized a mustache was missing.
